Katni, The 8-member team of Jabalpur Lokayukta arrested the clerk in-charge accountant and secretary posted in Barwara district office of Katni district red-handed while taking a bribe of 6 thousand rupees and started the proceedings.

Lokayukta officials said that Jitendra Singh Baghel, secretary posted in Pipariya Shukla Gram Panchayat under Dhimarkheda district area, was suspended in 2018 and reinstatement proceedings were done in the year 2023. Meanwhile, about 7 lakh 50 thousand rupees of arrears were pending for 5 years. In return for getting the arrears, the Babu had demanded a bribe of 7 thousand. Complainant Jitendra Singh Baghel said that about ten thousand rupees were taken as bribe for this work earlier also. But the work has not been done till now. After this, a complaint was made to Jabalpur Lokayukta against Babu Sanjay Chaturvedi. After which, while taking action, the Lokayukta team arrested Babu Sanjay Kumar Chaturvedi and his associate secretary Ashish Kumar Dubey red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 6. After this action, there was silence in the entire office. Lokayukta DSP Dilip Jharwade said that a complaint was received from Jitendra Singh Baghel, father Keshav Prasad, resident of Lurmi village, that the clerk in charge posted in Barwara district office is demanding bribe in the name of Lekhpal Arias. After the complaint, in charge Lekhpal Sanjay Kumar Chaturvedi and secretary posted in the office Ashish Dubey were caught taking a bribe of 6 thousand in Barwara district office. Legal action was taken against both of them. Inspector Rekha Prajapati, Inspector Naresh Baiga and other 5 members played an important role in the said action.
