Bengaluru, The special NIA court in Bengaluru has sent suspected attacker Musavir Hussain Shajib and mastermind Abdul Mathin Taha to 10-day NIA custody in the Rameshwaram cafe bomb blast case. The NIA on Saturday presented Musavir Hussain Shajib and his associate Abdul Mathin Taha before the magistrate. After getting the remand, NIA took both of them to an unknown place.

The arrest of suspected terrorists is a major success for the investigating agencies. They have links with international terrorist organizations and they prepared bombs inside the country and carried out the blasts with the help of local youth. Sources said that NIA has foiled the plan of ISIS to create a network of terrorists in India.

Mastermind Taha is an engineering graduate. It developed improvised explosive devices. His intention was to kill as many people as possible. He carried out a blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on March 1, injuring several people. NIA sources said that it will also investigate the money transactions between the suspected terrorists and their local network and find out who funded them.

After a chase of more than a month, the NIA on Friday arrested Musavir Hussain Shajib and his associate Abdul Mathin Taha from Kolkata. Sources say that both were planning to flee to Bangladesh.

The accused were brought to the state capital from Kolkata on 'transit remand' for their alleged role in the Rameshwaram cafe blast here on March 1, in which 10 people were injured.

According to NIA, Shajib had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in the cafe and Taha was its mastermind. Last month, NIA had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for the information leading to the arrest of these two accused.
