The arrested terrorists themselves have told that they were conspiring to target Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Chabad House of Mumbai, and some big leaders of the country as their targets. Among these terrorist accused, Mohammad Shahnawaz was arrested from Delhi, Mohammad Rizwan from Lucknow, and Arshad from Moradabad, UP. These terrorist accused had studied engineering.

CP HGS Dhaliwal of Special Cell in Delhi said that materials for making IED (Improvised Explosive Device), pistol and its cartridges, bomb making materials, and many documents have been recovered from Mohammad Shahnawaz. Police officials said that these terror accused had also planned to carry out the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack. Instructions were also given to give training to terrorist Shahnawaz for carrying out blasts. According to the police, Mohammad Shahnawaz's wife's name was Hindu Basanti Patel, but after marriage she changed her religion and her name became Maryam. Shahnawaz is a resident of Jharkhand.

Accused of being involved in several blasts

Mohammad Shahnawaz has been arrested along with his two other associates, while another accused Mohammad Rizwan is absconding. The accused have been produced in the court and have been given police custody remand of seven days.
