5 Personnel Martyred; Co-pilot Survives and Undergoes Treatment
An Indian Air Force aircraft has met with an accident in Assam. Five Air Force personnel lost their lives in the crash. However, the co-pilot survived and is currently undergoing treatment. An Air Force official stated that the Indian Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry to determine the cause of the crash; the aircraft belonged to the Indian Air Force and was used for transport operations.

Fire Erupts After Rough Landing
The aircraft involved in the accident was an Indian Air Force AN-32 transport aircraft. The incident occurred at the Jorhat Air Force Station. The plane crashed during landing; reports indicate the accident followed a rough landing. After the crash, the fire in the wreckage was extinguished, and an investigation is underway. The Indian Air Force stated that a military aircraft crashed while landing at the Jorhat Air Force Station in Assam. The aircraft was an AN-32 cargo plane used for transporting supplies. The accident occurred as the aircraft was attempting to land at the airbase. Rescue operations and an investigation are ongoing at the site.
Senior Officials Arrive at the Scene
An Indian Air Force spokesperson said, "The incident occurred while the aircraft was landing at the Indian Air Force airbase in the Rowriah area." The spokesperson added that senior Indian Air Force officials have reached the location.
Air Force Constituting a Court of Inquiry
The Indian Air Force has confirmed the incident. A Court of Inquiry is being constituted. In a post on X, the Indian Air Force stated, "An Indian Air Force An-32 aircraft met with an accident today while landing at Jorhat. A Court of Inquiry is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident." Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed grief over the incident. He wrote on X that their courage and service to the nation would always be remembered with pride and gratitude. Conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, he stated that the nation stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.
