After the deadly bowling of Arshdeep Singh (4 wickets), on the basis of the brilliant batting of Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey, the Indian cricket team defeated America by 7 wickets on Wednesday and qualified for the Super-8 in the T20 World Cup 2024. India won the toss and bowled first at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York and restricted America to 110 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs and then achieved the target by losing three wickets in 18.2 overs.

This is India's third consecutive win in three matches in Group-A and now it has six points. With this, Team India has now become the first team to qualify for the Super-8 from its group. America is currently at number two with four points after two wins in three matches. Pakistan is third after one win and two losses in three matches, Canada is fourth after one win and two losses in three matches, while Ireland is at number five after losing two matches. After this victory of India, the net run rate of America has now gone below Pakistan.

The Indian team, which came out to chase the target of 111 runs given by America, had a very bad start and Saurabh Netravalkar of Indian origin showed Virat Kohli the way to the pavilion on the second ball itself. Kohli, who has scored the most runs in the history of T20 World Cup, became a victim of golden duck for the first time. After his dismissal, Saurabh dismissed Rohit Sharma (3) in his next over.

After losing both their openers within 10 runs, Rishabh Pant (18) and Suryakumar Yadav (50 not out) tried to take India out of trouble by adding 29 runs for the third wicket. But Pant was also out on the team's score of 39 runs. After his dismissal, Suryakumar along with Shivam Dubey (31 not out) made a partnership of 67 runs for the fourth wicket and took India to the Super-8.

This is Suryakumar's fourth half-century in the T20 World Cup and his first since 2021. Suryakumar hit two fours and two sixes in 49 balls while Dubey hit a four and a six in 35 balls. Apart from Saurabh, Ali Khan got a success for America.
