Satna, State President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Jagdish Singh has demanded to release Bansagar water in the canals of the district within two days for paddy plantation. In a letter to this effect written to the District Collector and EE of Bansagar, he has said that in view of the drought situation in June, farmers need this water. The canal has been built so that farmers can get water for farming on time when needed. Farmers who plant paddy by 25 June every year have not been able to do so this time due to the pumps and wells drying up. It is noteworthy that till now only twenty percent rainfall has occurred in the district as compared to the average of 120 mm in June.
