Shortly before, the Islamabad High Court had suspended the verdict in the Toshakhana case and ordered his release.
According to Pakistani TV channel Sama TV, Imran Khan has been arrested in the cipher case and has been sent to judicial custody till 30 August. Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had on Tuesday stayed the conviction and three-year jail term of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana corruption case.

The division bench had on Monday reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties on Imran's petition challenging the lower court's decision in the case. A sessions court in Islamabad on August 5 sentenced 70-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to three years in jail in the Toshakhana corruption case.

The sessions court had also barred the PTI chief from taking part in political activities for the next five years, thereby barring him from contesting the upcoming elections. Imran challenged the lower court's decision in the Islamabad High Court.
