Shahdol, the Municipal Council in the district has been in trouble since 2007. Though in a dilemma regarding the hoardings and income from this business, the Municipal Body Administration took cognizance of the news and in a conspiracy to whitewash the tender made in the name of blinkers to Unique Enterprises, the contractor is struggling for sole control in the hoardings and how the Collector and CMO did not notice such black business which has been running for a long time in a haphazard manner, is a big question. How did the Municipal Corporation not notice it, these businessmen are making a lot of money in the business of hoardings installed in large numbers around the roads.
The hoardings installed in their business have earned lakhs of rupees for the businessmen, it is a different matter that the business of illegal hoardings has taken the businessmen from rags to riches. Sources say that the municipality did not get a single penny from the money earned from illegal business. Tender number 6587 and 6588 which was edited on 23 July 2024 for installing gantry and advertising blinker board, a tender has been taken for twenty years. Its tender amount is Rs 3311000.00 thirty three lakh eleven rupees but on the same day and the same date another tender came secretly which was for twenty two lakh fifty one thousand rupees for five traffic signals and from Jai Stambh to Gandhi Chowk and additional 50 blinkers will be installed in the traffic signal. But those who worked by whitewashing on paper and by throwing dust in the eyes of the CMO indirectly exposed the large scale scam without everyone's involvement in organized crime.
