Katni, Katni Golbazar Ramlila Ground has been encroached all around. Due to encroachment, the existence of Ramlila Ground seems to be in danger. While establishing Ram Darbar on the right side of the Ramlila stage, about 2 thousand square feet of land has been illegally occupied. Here, the Municipal Corporation has prepared a plan to build an auditorium at a cost of two crore rupees, due to which the organization of Ramlila in the coming time is in danger. Golbazar Ramlila Committee has made this allegation in a press conference and has demanded immediate action from the government administration. Advocate Bharat Agarwal, the main officer of the committee, said that Ramlila has been successfully staged in Golbazar Ramlila Ground since the year 1884. Ramlila is being successfully staged every year by the city's oldest Ramlila Committee. This year also Ramlila will be staged from 25 September. Social worker Ravi Khare said that Bhoomi Pujan will be done about a week before this. But the irony is that till now no action has been taken to remove the encroachment in Ramlila Maidan, while there is illegal occupation all around the ground. Some people have established Ram Darbar here. At night, the ground becomes a den of anti-social elements. Due to which many types of problems are being faced. He said that every year the administration vacates the ground for a month and hands it over to the Golbazar Ramlila Committee, but this time it does not seem to be happening. The main reason behind this is illegal occupation on the right side of the stage. The committee had complained about this illegal occupation to the police and administration.
The officials of the Ramlila Committee said that the Municipal Corporation administration is making a malicious attempt to destroy the historical, religious and cultural heritage of the city. There are many such places in the city where auditoriums can be built, but the Municipal Corporation chose Golbazar Ramlila Ground for the construction of the auditorium, this is beyond comprehension. The municipal corporation administration has no answer to how Ramlila will be staged after the construction of the auditorium being built here at a cost of Rs 2 crore and where will the thousands of spectators sit and enjoy Ramlila. The auditorium will have seating arrangements for 200 to 250 spectators and a ticket counter will also be made. The officials of the Ramlila committee opposed the plan to build the auditorium and said that it is not right for the city and public interest.
