Wind blowing at the speed of 30 km per hour in Ujjain had exposed the shoddy construction of Mahakal Lok. The Gujarat company for which the government paid a heavy price for making the idols. He played fiercely in making idols keeping the quality in mind. Neither took care of strength, nor worried about air pressure. Now the result is in front of everyone, whereas when the idols are installed at a height of five feet, they are designed according to the air pressure. Fiber idols are also strengthened by filling pieces of marble inside them, so that they can withstand the pressure of air, but in Mahakal Lok, the idols of Saptarishi were kept hollow. This thing also came to light only after the idols were broken.

The thickness of the mat used in the fiber was also weak. If it was strong, the idols would not have broken when they fell, rather they would have been scratched or worn, but many idols of Mahakal Lok were broken as soon as they fell, which is telling that the idols were made with shoddy construction. When we talked to some sculptors on the issue of strength of the idols of Mahakal Lok, they counted the weakness of the idols installed in Mahakal Lok.

Negligence to install hollow idols

Sculptor Sundar Gurjar says that usually the thickness of the fiber idols of three to four feet that are made is thin, but in Mahakal Lok, thin layer fiber was used in the idols of more than 10 feet height. For this reason the idols were broken due to falling. The idols are strengthened from within according to the air pressure during installation at a height of more than five feet. Steel reinforcement is given from the base to the head of the idol and then the idols are filled with marble pieces inside, so that the strength remains and they can withstand the air pressure, but the idols of Mahakal Lok were kept hollow, that is why they Couldn't stand the pressure of the wind. It is negligence to install a hollow idol.

This condition in the first year itself

Sculptor Kishore Kodwani says that fiber idols are not installed in open in public places. This was not taken care of in Mahakal Lok. Fiber idols kept in the open get burnt due to lightning. The fiber becomes weak after some time and cracks also appear. I feel sorry for the thinking of the officers who got fiber idols installed in Mahakal Lok. It is now the first year of Mahakal Lok, this is the condition in that only. If the wind speed were 50 kilometers per hour, then it would not take long for Mahakal Lok to become a Hawa Mahal.

Payment of 40 lakhs per idol!

The contract for making idols in Mahakal Lok, built at a cost of 350 crores, was given to a Gujarat company. It is said that Rs 40 lakh was paid per idol. Seven months later, when the fiber idols were blown up and broken in Mahakal Lok, the officers were seen saying that stone idols have to be installed. Fiber statues were installed at the time of Lok's inauguration.

Stone idols take time, so fiber idol was installed

Collector Kumar Purushottam said that it takes time to make stone idols, so fiber idols were installed. Gradually they will be replaced by stone idols. It is known to all that fiber idols are not durable for a long time.
