Motihari, even after seven years, the Bihar government has not been able to give compensation to the flood victims. Dozens of affected families affected by the floods in the year 2017 and 2020 reached the government office demanding compensation. Where the application was submitted to the BDO and CO and demanded compensation. The flood victims are asking the government clerk that how many days will it take now, sir?
Let us tell you that in the year 2017 and 2020, in Bhawanipur of Uttari Chhapra Bahas village of Sugauli Panchayat of Motihari, due to the catastrophic floods, the land and houses of dozens of people of Dalit, Muslim and Dhobi community were washed away in the river due to flood erosion. Due to which the affected families became homeless. The affected families who became homeless in the flood were not even compensated for the loss suffered. For the last 7 years, these people kept visiting government offices demanding compensation. Now these people are completely tired of running around and are asking the government officials that how many days will it take to get compensation? Because in this case neither the department nor the government has taken any initiative. Even now the affected families are somehow forced to live on the dam and make their living.
On the other hand, under the leadership of CPI-ML leader Bhola Sah, the homeless families had gone to the BDO and CO to apply for land and house. The flood victims said that soon we should be given land and house to live in. So that our family can live there. On the other hand, the flood-homeless family said that if our words are not heard even now, then we will go to the block headquarters with the whole family and build our home there. The victims said that we have given written applications to the department many times but till date there has been no hearing on it. We have been left to die. We have become dependent on each grain. The department people come and give assurances and go away after taking photographs. But they do nothing. The department and the government have been keeping us in the dark for the last seven years. But now we are not going to live in the dark. If our demands are not considered, we will be forced to launch a movement.
