Historic Naxal encounter in Chhattisgarh
Security forces killed 29 Naxalites, recovered huge amount of weapons
A major encounter took place between security forces and Naxalites on the border of Naxal-affected Narayanpur and Dantewada districts of Chhattisgarh, in which the bodies of 29 Naxalites have been recovered so far. This incident is being considered a major success under anti-Naxal operations in Naxal-affected areas. Police officials said that security forces were sent there after receiving information about the activities of Naxalites on the border of Narayanpur and Dantewada districts. A large number of automatic weapons and ammunition have also been recovered in this operation launched by the security forces.
Dantewada Range DIG Kamlochan Kashyap informed that this area was considered a safe place for Naxalites, where their activities were being seen for a long time. With the aim of ending this presence of Naxalites, this operation was started as per the plan four days ago. 31 Naxalites have been confirmed killed in this encounter. Also, a large amount of arms, ammunition, and other materials have been recovered by the security forces. Kashyap said that mainly six companies of Naxalites are active in this area, whose number is said to be between 100 to 150.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma also confirmed this encounter and called it a big success in the direction of anti-Naxal operations. He said that after the encounter, the security forces conducted a search operation in the entire area, during which the bodies of the Naxalites were recovered. By evening, IG Sundarraj P. of Bastar Division and SPs of Narayanpur and Dantewada will give detailed information about this encounter. The Deputy Chief Minister also said that heavy weapons like AK-47, SLR have been recovered in this encounter, which will play an important role in reducing the strength of the Naxalites.
Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh praised the state government and security forces for this encounter. He said that this operation was successfully carried out under the leadership of the state Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Home Minister Vijay Sharma. Along with this, he also praised the strategy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, under which the anti-Naxal operation got such a big success. He also congratulated the security forces for this success and praised their efforts.
This encounter is considered to be the biggest anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh so far, in which the security forces have achieved great success in weakening the activities of the Naxalites.
