Indore, Indore all-rounder Saransh Jain, selected for the Indian Test cricket team for the Sri Lanka tour, credits his father, Subodh Kumar Jain, for his achievement. He said that even in the most challenging circumstances, his father never let his morale down and always encouraged him to focus solely on cricket. He remains his biggest source of inspiration even today.

During an interaction with the media at the State Press Club's "Rubaroo" program, Saransh shared many emotional experiences about his struggles, family support, and his journey to Team India. He expressed hope that he will be included in the playing eleven in the Test series against Sri Lanka and that he will bring honor to Indore, along with the country, with his performance.

Saransh explained that when his father was to undergo surgery for oral cancer, he was in Australia on an MPCA tour. His family deliberately withheld information from him so as not to distract him from cricket. Upon returning to India, he became emotional when he learned of his father's illness and surgery. His father told him, "The better you play cricket, the faster I will recover." According to Saransh, these words became the biggest inspiration in his life.

Father's Dream, Son Fulfilled

Saransh shared that his father is now completely healthy and still encourages him at every step. He said that his father, a former Ranji cricketer himself, always wanted his son to one day wear the Indian jersey and represent the country. His father was also the happiest when he was selected for Team India.

Harbhajan Singh's Teachings Changed His Thinking

Saransh described the guidance of former cricketers Narendra Hirwani and Amay Khurasiya as very important in his cricket career. He said that Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh are among his role models. Recently, Harbhajan Singh gave him an important piece of advice: "To achieve something, you need not only sacrifice but also persistent hard work." Saransh says this learning has reshaped his thinking, and he's continued his hard work with even greater seriousness.

Saransh admits that his journey to Team India hasn't been easy. There were times when he considered quitting cricket, but his family, especially his father, kept him confident through every difficult time.
