A big accident happened in Gangaani of Uttarkashi this morning. There is news of a helicopter crashing from Sahasradhara of Dehradun. At the time of the accident, there were 7 people in the helicopter. Out of these, 6 have died while one is injured. The rescue team has also reached the spot. It was told that while going from Kharsali to Harshil, the helicopter of Aerotrans company met with an accident. The people on board the helicopter are not known.

Where was the plane going?

This morning, the Aerotrans company helicopter took off from Sahasradhara helipad in Dehradun for Yamunotri with Chardham pilgrims. After Kharsali helipad of Yamunotri, this helicopter left for Gangotri, where it had to reach Harshil helipad. While going to Harshil, it suddenly crashed in Gangaani of Uttarkashi. There were 5 to 6 people on board at that time.

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has confirmed that 6 passengers died and 1 is seriously injured in a helicopter crash near Ganganani in Uttarkashi district. Administration and relief teams are present at the helicopter crash site. The injured are reported to have been airlifted to AIIMS.

CM expressed grief

State Chief Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the helicopter crash incident. He wrote that very sad news has been received about some casualties in a helicopter crash near Ganganani in Uttarkashi. SDRF and district administration teams have immediately reached the spot for relief and rescue work. May God grant the souls of those who died in the accident a place in his feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense grief. The administration has been instructed to provide all possible assistance to the injured and investigate the accident. I am constantly in touch with the officials in this regard and every situation is being monitored.

According to SDRF and Uttarakhand Police, at around 08:50 am, SDRF received information that a helicopter has crashed in Gangani area. As soon as the information was received, a team was immediately dispatched from Post Bhatwadi under the leadership of Head Constable Naveen Kumar, while another team was dispatched from Post Ujeli under the leadership of Sub Inspector Pushkar Jina. SDRF Team Bhatwadi reached the spot and saw that the helicopter had fallen into a ditch about 200 to 250 meters deep. The team has started the rescue work of descending into the ditch by making a base at the spot. This helicopter belonged to Aerotrans Services Pvt. Ltd., whose registration number is VT-OXF. This helicopter was on a flight from Sahastradhara helipad Dehradun to Kharsali helipad. The pilot of the helicopter was Captain Robin Singh. There were 07 people on board the helicopter including the pilot.
