A deeply tragic and sensational report has emerged from Itar Pahar village, located within the jurisdiction of the Gudh police station in Rewa district. Panic has gripped the entire area following the discovery on Sunday afternoon of the bodies of two members of the same family—a mother and her innocent 5-year-old son—floating in a village well. Since the incident, a wave of mourning has swept through the entire village, and the bereaved family members are inconsolable in their grief. According to the information received, the deceased have been identified as Meena Kushwaha, 31, and her 5-year-old son, Saurabh Kushwaha, residents of Itar Pahar village under the Gudh police station area. The entire incident is reported to have occurred around 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday afternoon, when a local youth from the village approached the well, he spotted two bodies floating in the water. Upon seeing the bodies, the youth was left stunned and immediately began raising an alarm at the scene. Hearing the screams and cries for help, villagers from the surrounding area gathered in large numbers near the well. The villagers immediately informed the Gudh police station about the incident.

Police Arrive at the Scene; Husband Resides Out of Town
Upon receiving the information, the Gudh police force immediately rushed to the scene of the incident. With the assistance of the villagers, and after considerable effort, the police successfully retrieved the bodies of both the mother and the son from the well. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased woman's husband, Durgesh Kushwaha, resides out of town for work-related livelihood purposes. The woman had been living at home with her children. The husband was not present in the village at the time of the incident. The police have promptly informed the deceased woman's husband and other family members about the tragedy.

Inquest and Post-Mortem Proceedings Conducted Today at the Hospital
On the day following the incident—that is, today, Monday—the Gudh police initiated further statutory proceedings. The police team prepared the official inquest report ( panchnama ) for both bodies at the police outpost located within the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa. Following the completion of the  panchnama  proceedings, both bodies were handed over to doctors for a post-mortem examination. After the post-mortem, the bodies were released to the grieving relatives for the final rites. The Gudh police are conducting a serious investigation into all aspects of the case—specifically, how the bodies of the mother and son ended up in the well—to determine whether this was a case of suicide, an accident, or if there was a conspiracy behind it. Police officials state that the exact cause of death will only be revealed once the post-mortem report is received. The police are also questioning the relatives and villagers in an effort to piece together the sequence of events surrounding the incident.
