Government spoke on Chinese intrusion
Drawing a red line on our land does not mean occupation
New Delhi, Amid the tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, the Indian government has given a big statement regarding intrusion. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that just making marks at undetermined places does not mean that there has been encroachment in those areas. Rijiju's statement came amid reports of alleged intrusion of the Chinese army in Arunachal Pradesh.
Rijiju, a resident of Arunachal Pradesh, also said that Indian and Chinese soldiers often reach the same place for patrolling in undetermined areas on the India-China border, but this is not something that encroaches on Indian territory. The Union Minister's remarks came amid reports that the Chinese army had allegedly entered Indian territory in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh last week and they were camping in the Kapapu area of the district for some time.
Rijiju said that China cannot take our land. Soldiers of both the countries often reach the same place to patrol in undetermined areas. They are not allowed to make any permanent construction. There is strict monitoring from our side. Just making marks at undetermined places does not mean that those areas have been encroached.
The Union Minister said that India is building infrastructure on the border and this will continue. The new development has happened at a time when the deadlock between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army continues in Ladakh since April 2020. India and China have a 3,400 km long Line of Actual Control (LAC) from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. China has been calling Arunachal Pradesh its territory. India has been rejecting these claims as "absurd" and "ridiculous".
