Patna, For the first time in Bihar, a foreign citizen has been granted Indian citizenship under CAA. This woman is a resident of Chitra Toli Road in Ara. This woman's three daughters also struggled a lot to get Indian citizenship. Let us tell you that after the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act-2019 (CAA) in the country, for the first time a foreign woman has been granted Indian citizenship in Bihar. This woman had Bangladeshi citizenship. She has been living in Bhojpur district for 39 years. But, after the implementation of CAA law in the country, she applied for Indian citizenship. After investigation by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, CBI, Indian Postal Department, Passport Department, Bihar Government and CID, Sumitra Rani Saha, who was a Bangladeshi citizen till now, has been declared an Indian citizen. Sumitra had to make hard efforts for 39 years to become an Indian citizen. She got married in the year 1985. After this, she came to Bhojpur district. Now she is 60 years old. She has her own family here. She kept visiting offices with her daughter several times to get Indian citizenship. Her passport was of Bangladesh. To stay in India, she had to renew her visa again and again. Even now the visa is updated till the year 2025. But she wanted to get rid of this hassle to become a permanent Indian citizen. Meanwhile, the law came into force in the country. This gave hope to Sumitra. With the support of the family, she applied for Indian citizenship. To grant Indian citizenship, the woman's documents were examined at many levels. The CBI also investigated the matter extensively. After this, after examining the CBI report and other documents, Sumitra Rani Sahya has finally been granted Indian citizenship.
