Anuppur, Anuppur Junction Station is being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The work is going on at a slow pace and passengers are facing a lot of problems. Regarding this, District Development Forum convenor Vasudev Chatterjee Advocate along with former MLA and Coal Development Authority Chairman Ramlal Rautel have also sent a letter to the station manager, collector Anuppur and DRM Bilaspur demanding to start the ongoing construction work at a fast pace and increase the facilities. It has been written in the memorandum that the Railway Ministry of the Government of India has included SECR situated Anuppur Junction Station in the Amrit Bharat Scheme and renovation work is underway at the station. This is a welcome step. For better traffic management, it is necessary in public interest to construct a road at least 30 feet wide on the proposed under construction road from Kotwali Tiraha next to the library for entry into Anuppur Railway Station. This will facilitate the movement of passengers.
Along with this, it is also necessary to make the entry gate 40 feet wide and it is also necessary to connect the road from the railway boundary directly to the old West Kevin road via the main station. So that the passengers coming from Anuppur Junction, which is the gateway of Surguja division of Chhattisgarh state, will be able to enter the railway station directly and travel to their destination without entering the city and market without any hindrance and the traffic system of the city will also run smoothly without any hindrance. Also, whatever work is under construction under Amrit Bharat and Gatimaanya Yojana should be completed on time as per proper quality. Apart from this, the stairs (including foot over bridge ram) connecting platform number 01 to 03 and 04 should be constructed immediately. Apart from this, lift and escalator should also be installed in the station soon. And arrangements should be made for Divyangjans, senior citizens to go from platform number 01 to 03 and 04. Electronic glow sign boards should be installed in the clock room and outside the station and near all the stairs in the junction station.
Expansion of the above facilities is a necessary step for the benefit of passengers. In the interest of passengers, extension of Shahdol-Nagpur train to Anuppur, stoppage of the train running between Rani Kamalapati and Santragachhi at Anuppur, running Chirmiri-Rewa as a passenger train daily as per the old time is also necessary. Barauni-Gaudia Express should be extended to Nagpur, Itwari, Kamathi, Anjani stations. Ambikapur-Durg Express should be extended to Nagpur, Itwari, Kamathi, Anjani stations. Tatanagar-Bilaspur Passenger should be extended to Chirmiri. A memorandum has been submitted regarding all the above demands. Prominent among those who submitted the memorandum were District Development Forum convenor Vasudev Chatterjee Advocate, former Nagar Palika councilor Rakesh Gupta Bablu, Atul Tamrakar, Kailash Gupta and commercial officers from Bilaspur were also present on this occasion.
