Ambikapur, what a house means in a person's life is beyond description, but the importance of that house increases when there is an emotional attachment to it. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has given a roof over the head to many needy people, but for Chandan, PM Awas is not just a house made of bricks and cement, it is the blessings and love of his father, which is firmly established on his entire family. Late Devnath Ram, a resident of Khutia village panchayat of Lakhanpur development block, also had a dream of living in his dream home with his family. Housing was approved in his name in the year 2024-25, in which he received assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh from the government.

Devnath's son Chandan Singh says that our old house had mud walls and mud roof. There was always some problem in it. There was a need for more cleanliness, children often fell ill due to increased humidity in the house during rains. They lacked the money to build a new permanent house. Living in this environment, father's health was continuously deteriorating, but as soon as he came to know about the government assistance for building permanent houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he immediately applied and the amount was also approved. However, father died shortly after the house was built. Father's dream was to live in this dream house with the whole family. He is no more, but with the help of the government, he gave us his blessings in the form of a permanent house. Today the family is living in this permanent house with the memories of father. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, needy families are getting the facility to live in beautiful, clean, permanent houses.
