Rituals to continue for several days

On the night of July 2, 2026, a tribute gathering was held at the 'Aqa-e-Shahid-e-Iran' complex, located near the 'Imam Khomeini Hussainiya'—a major Shia religious and political center in the capital, Tehran. This site is considered part of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's office complex.
Presence of martyrs' families at the tribute gathering
The tribute ceremony was attended by the relatives of those killed in recent conflicts, families of martyrs associated with the office of Iran's Supreme Leader, and families of martyrs from the security forces. Those present collectively paid their final respects to the mortal remains of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This is reported to be the first official public ceremony to pay tribute to Khamenei, with a large number of martyrs' families participating.

A memorial service was also held on July 1, 2026, at the Farhang School in Tehran in memory of Zahra Haddad-Adel—Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's daughter-in-law and the wife of his son, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei. Her father, Dr. Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, along with family members, fellow teachers, friends, and other acquaintances, were present on the occasion.
At this gathering, family and close associates bade an emotional final farewell to Zahra Haddad-Adel. The photographs from the event are said to be from the final tribute ceremony held following her passing.

PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has departed for Iran to attend the event. Meanwhile, Jain Muni Lokesh has also been invited and has confirmed that he will travel directly to Tehran from the United States.
