Fifth grader girl burnt to death in Patna school
Principal suspended, orders issued for action against officers and employees
The principal of the school in Patna where a fifth grader girl died of burns has been suspended. On the instructions of Patna DM, the District Education Officer has suspended the Principal of Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, Amalatola, Anchal-Gardnibagh, Patna, Premlata Kumari, Principal, under the provisions of Bihar Government Servants (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 2005, with immediate effect. Also, departmental proceedings are being initiated against her.
What is the whole matter?
On 27.08.2025, Zoya Parveen, a fifth grader of the school, died due to fire in Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, Amalatola, Anchal Gardanibagh, Patna. The District Officer, Patna took this incident seriously. He said that this incident is very sad. This is a criminal negligence. The police is investigating this incident by registering an FIR. The District Magistrate said that such an incident happening inside the school premises shows the negligence, lack of control and insensitivity of the headmaster.
Departmental action will also be taken
On the instructions of the District Magistrate, the District Education Officer has suspended the Headmaster of Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, Amlatola, Anchal-Gardnibagh, Patna, Premlata Kumari with immediate effect under the provisions contained in the Bihar Government Servant (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 2005. Along with this, departmental action is being initiated against her. The District Magistrate said that the District Education Officer has been directed to issue a charge sheet for conducting departmental proceedings against the suspended headmaster.
The suspended Headmaster Premlata Kumari has been posted in the office of the Headquarter Block Education Officer, Phulwari Sharif during the suspension period. The District Magistrate said that any kind of laxity or negligence in discharging official responsibilities will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against such officers and personnel as per rules, including departmental and disciplinary action.
