Female Student Held Hostage and Raped for Five Days
Accused Arrested by Police
Gwalior, A case involving the rape and five-day confinement of a 19-year-old college student has come to light in the Purani Chhawni police station area. The police have arrested the accused, Vijay Rathore, a resident of Kailaras (Morena).
According to the police, the student worked part-time at a petrol pump to support her family. During this time, she met Vijay Rathore, and the two became friends. In her complaint, the victim stated that on May 31, the accused took her along under the pretext of taking her out for a drive. After roaming the city all day, he took her to a deserted area in Transport Nagar, where he forcibly raped her. When she resisted, he assaulted her and threatened to kill her.
The victim alleges that following the incident, the accused took her to various locations, held her captive for five days, and repeatedly raped her. During this period, she was unable to return home. When their daughter went missing, her family began searching for her and reported the disappearance to the police.
On June 4, the accused brought the student back to Gwalior. Subsequently, the victim narrated her ordeal to her family, and a formal complaint was lodged at the Purani Chhawni police station.
A female police officer recorded the victim's statement. Following the investigation, the police registered a case against the accused under sections related to rape, kidnapping, assault, criminal intimidation, and the SC/ST Act, and arrested him. The police are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.
