Families of two deceased policemen in Damoh received a security cover of Rs 1 crore each
SP handed over checks for the assistance amount
Damoh. A special program was organized at the Superintendent of Police's office on Wednesday to provide financial support to the families of police personnel under the Police Salary Package (PSP) scheme. At the event, checks for Rs 1 crore each were presented to the dependent families of deceased Head Constable Shamim Khan and Constable Bhupendra Thakur, posted in Damoh district.
Both policemen died in June 2025 while undergoing treatment after an accident. Following the instructions of Police Headquarters, Bhopal, the Police Salary Package (PSP) scheme was implemented to provide financial security to police officers, employees, and their families. Under this scheme, a contract has been signed with the State Bank of India, according to which, in the event of a policeman's death in an accident, his dependent family is provided with Rs 1 crore as assistance.
Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladgi handed over checks for the assistance amount to the families of the deceased policemen during the program. On this occasion, Chief Manager of State Bank Katni Pushpraj Patel, Chief Manager of State Bank Damoh Santosh Verma and BDM Prakash Raikwar along with police and bank officials were present.
