A sensational case has emerged from Mangaluru, Karnataka, leaving everyone shocked. A local Youth Congress office-bearer and his associate have been accused of extorting crores of rupees from a businessman by allegedly honey-trapping him. The police have arrested both accused and initiated an investigation into the matter.

According to the police, the arrested individuals include Nizam, an office-bearer of the Mangaluru Youth Congress, and his associate, Jitesh. The complainant, a businessman, alleged that he was blackmailed over a long period using private photographs and videos. The accused allegedly extorted a huge sum of money from him by threatening to circulate these images and videos among his family and acquaintances.

The Cycle of Blackmail Continued
It is reported that, initially, the businessman complied with the accused's demands out of fear. As time passed, the monetary demands increased, and the blackmailing continued unabated. He was led to believe that if he stopped paying, his social reputation and family life would be completely ruined.

The case took a dramatic turn when the accused allegedly concocted a story about a fake suicide. The businessman was told that one of the accused had committed suicide and had named him in the alleged suicide note. He was then intimidated with the threat of police arrest and imprisonment. Capitalizing on this fear, the accused continued to extort money from him.

Police investigation revealed that approximately ₹2.77 crore was extorted from the businessman between 2024 and 2026. He kept paying the money due to constant pressure and threats. However, the entire conspiracy was exposed when he recently spotted the man—who had previously been declared dead—roaming around the city. Following this incident, the businessman realized he had been the victim of a major fraud.
