Telangana State Warangal City Coordination between departments is essential to resolve traffic problems: Warangal Police Commissioner N. Swetha CP Swetha reviews traffic issues with GWMC Commissioner Venkanna Warangal, August 20: Warangal Police Commissioner N. Swetha suggested that officials from relevant departments should work in coordination to resolve traffic problems and prevent road accidents in the Warangal Tricity. A special traffic management meeting was held on Thursday under the supervision of the Police Commissioner to discuss traffic problems and steps to prevent accidents in the Tricity. The meeting was attended by GWMC Commissioner T. Venkanna, NHAI PD Bharadwaj, as well as officials from the R&B, Municipal, Traffic, and Police departments. During the meeting, the traffic police identified black spots in the city where road accidents frequently occur and, through a PowerPoint presentation, outlined steps to prevent them. Detailed discussions were held on how existing traffic signals work, where new signals should be installed in Warangal, Hanumakonda, and Kazipet areas, removal of encroachments, telephone and electricity poles, provision of parking space, road repairs, solar blinkers at U-turn points, and identifying suitable locations for auto stands. Speaking on the occasion, CP Shweta directed officials to prioritize traffic control along with maintaining law and order. She said that 159 such areas have been identified in the Tricity region where lighting is poor at night. He advised the concerned department to take immediate steps to install street lights in those areas. He directed the officials to take necessary steps by identifying dangerous areas, main intersections, road turns and unauthorized parking areas and to be cautious in areas where accidents are likely to occur. GWMC Commissioner T. Venkanna said that special attention will be given to the issues suggested by the police officials for traffic control in the city. He said that if the police and municipal department officials go to the field level and work in coordination to identify and solve the problems, then the traffic problems can be solved in a better way. The officials decided to jointly implement measures like road construction, improvement of signalling system, parking facilities, removal of encroachments and road safety measures to find a permanent solution to the traffic problems. Central Zone DCP Dara Kavitha, Hanumankonda ACP Narasimha Rao, Traffic ACP Satyanarayana, Traffic Department officials, Inspectors of Police Stations of Tricity area, IT Corps, TTI Inspector, Municipal Corporation and R&B Department officials participated in the meeting.
