Election campaign stopped in Saharanpur
Polling parties left for polling stations, voting will take place tomorrow

Saharanpur. The election campaign for the Lok Sabha elections has stopped on Wednesday evening. Today, 2708 polling parties started leaving from the Central Warehouse complex on Janata Road from 7 am for voting. Voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held on April 19. Of the seven in the district, Behat, Saharanpur Nagar, Saharanpur Dehat, Deoband and Rampur Maniharan assembly constituencies fall in the Saharanpur Lok Sabha constituency, while Nakur and Gangoh assembly seats are included in the Kairana Lok Sabha constituency. On Thursday, polling parties were sent to polling stations. Polling parties were sent with election materials from the warehouse located on Janta Road in the presence of District Election Officer/District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra Singh, CDO Sumit Mahajan and other officials. All the officers and employees engaged in election duty had reached the warehouse by 7:00 in the morning. The polling fairies left with the election material under police custody. Here too many employees were seen trying to get their duty cut for various reasons. There are 1855310 voters in Saharanpur Lok Sabha seat, while the number of voters in the two assembly seats falling in Kairana Lok Sabha seat is 746666. Voting will be held at 2708 polling places in the district. Of these, 746 are critical polling places. To ensure smooth voting, the district has been divided into 22 zones and 216 sectors. To conduct the elections in a free, transparent and peaceful manner, webcasting will be done at 1377 polling places. For security reasons, 17 thousand soldiers will be deployed in the district.
