On Wednesday, a Delhi court heard the arguments of Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez's lawyer in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case related to fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to the ANI report, the actress's lawyer told the court that the actress did not know that the gifts she received from fraudster Sukesh were given illegally, which is part of this money laundering case. The actress has challenged the charge sheet filed against her in this case.

According to ANI, Jacqueline Fernandez is not accused of money laundering. She says that she did not know that the expensive gifts received from Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who committed a mega fraud of Rs 200 crore, were related to the proceeds of crime and his illegal activities. During the hearing in the court, Justice Anish Dayal raised a question. He asked whether an adult person should not be responsible to know where the gifts she has received have come from? The High Court will now hear the case next on November 26.

Jacqueline's big claim on gifts received from Sukesh

Senior lawyers Siddharth Agarwal, Prashant Patil and Shakti Pandey defended Jacqueline Fernandez. He said that Jacqueline was not aware that the gifts received from Sukesh Chandrashekhar were purchased from the money extorted from Aditi Singh. The lawyer also told that ED does not claim that Jacqueline knew that the gifts came from money earned from crime. He said that the actress may have made a mistake, but that mistake was not illegal. Therefore, no legal action can be taken on this.

The next hearing will be on November 26

ED has said that Jacqueline Fernandez did not confirm the news she read in the newspaper about Sukesh and she had received gifts from Sukesh. The report said that Jacqueline had received this news in 2019, but there is no concrete evidence of this. Pinky Irani, who is Sukesh's partner, had told Jacqueline that he has big political contacts. Jacqueline's lawyer said that the actress was falsely implicated due to these relationships. After this, it was also said that Jacqueline did not talk to Sukesh.
