Dumper hit car, two BJP leaders died
Former MLA alleges - deliberate action
A dumper hit a car in Odisha's Sambalpur district on Sunday morning. Two BJP leaders died in this accident. The deceased were identified as Devendra Nayak and Muralidhar Chhuria. Nayak was the BJP's Goshala Mandal President, while Chhuria was a former Sarpanch. Both the leaders were close to senior BJP leader Nauri Nayak.
Six people were in the car
According to the police, the incident took place at 1.30 am on NH 53 in Burla police station area. There were six people in the car, including the driver. They were returning from Bhubaneswar to their home Kardola. After the accident, everyone was taken to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared two dead, while others are undergoing treatment.
Intentional collision with car
Suresh Chanda, who was injured in the incident, alleged, 'The dumper hit our car twice from behind. We suspected that someone was deliberately hitting our car, so the driver turned the car from the highway towards Kanthpali Chowk, but the dumper followed and hit the car again, causing the car to overturn.'
He said that he was conscious when the car was hit twice. But when the dumper hit him for the third time, he fainted. Chanda said, 'I am sure that it was done intentionally. Someone can accidentally hit once, but why was it hit three times?'
Dumper seized
After meeting the injured people, former MLA Nauri Nayak said that it was not an accident, but a deliberate collision. He alleged that someone deliberately hit the leaders' car three times. Meanwhile, Sabalpur SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamu said, 'We have seized the dumper and taken its driver into custody. After the allegations of the family members of the deceased, we will investigate the matter.'
