Saharanpur, a meeting of peace committee and law and order was held in the new auditorium of the Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Vipin Tada in view of the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Azha. In the meeting, DM Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that Namaaz should be offered only at designated places, not at public places. He appealed that we all have to follow the law in every situation and do not start any new tradition. He said that after the sacrifice, the remains should not be thrown here and there in public places. The Municipal Corporation has designated places to take the remains, they should be taken covered. He instructed the Municipal Corporation to ensure better supply of water. He said that making arrangements is the work of the administration but it is also your responsibility to cooperate in it and maintain cleanliness. The local tehsil administration will have to exercise full caution and vigilance. He said that prohibited animals should not be sacrificed. He directed all the EOs and SDMs including the Municipal Corporation to make proper arrangements for cleanliness and water. Senior Superintendent of Police Saharanpur Dr. Vipin Tada said that strict action will be taken against the unruly elements trying to spoil the atmosphere. He said that there will be tight police arrangements to ensure that the festival is celebrated peacefully. All SDMs and COs should hold peace committee meetings with the elite citizens in their respective areas. The elite citizens of the society assured the district administration that everyone will cooperate fully in celebrating the festival peacefully.
