District Yogasana Competition begins

Saharanpur, Yogasana Competition is not an ordinary competition, in this it is more important to rise above the desire of winning or losing and to win and give the best performance because being a Yogi means being a winner. These thoughts were expressed by International Yoga Guru and former diplomat Acharya Pratishtha's mother and Academy's Principal Ishta Sharma present as the chief guest while inaugurating the District Yogasana Sports Competition which started at Nation Builders Academy here today and appreciated the good fortune of the players that they are getting the honour of performing in the premises of the country's first yoga based English medium school established since 1989. She expressed hope from the players that by maintaining the tradition of the past years, they will maintain the global image of Saharanpur in yoga. Earlier, Saharanpur Yogasana Sports Association's patron and Hari Group of Institutions' chairman Subhash Chaudhary, president Nandkishore Sharma and chief guest inaugurated the competition by lighting Sadhna Deep amidst conch sound and chanting of mantras. Kumari Sonakshi greeted them with Tilak and Akshat, Yogacharya Seema Gupta and Rampur branch's director Shashikant Sharma welcomed the guests by garlanding them and draping them with Angavastra. Patron Subhash Chaudhary, while announcing the start of the competition, congratulated all the players that they got a chance to connect with yoga at this young age, he advised them to participate in the competition with full concentration and fearlessness. Acharya Shashikant Sharma, Navnish Kant Sharma, Yogacharya Anita Sharma, Yogacharya Seema Gupta and international winner Pranay Sharma were present as judges. The hospitality of Dr. R.K. Yadav, Ram, Sumanyu Seth, Narayan Verma, Abhishek Thakral, Lalit Verma, Mukesh Sharma, Keshav Verma and Raman Sharma was appreciated by the participating players. This competition, being held in twelve categories, is expected to continue till late evening, in which a large number of male and female sadhaks are participating.
