Saharanpur, District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra saw the Napier grass being grown by farmer Vijaypal Singh in village Kamheda of Tehsil Nakud area and stopped the vehicle and reached the farmer's field. He expressed happiness while talking to the farmer and honoured him by giving him a shawl for good production of Napier grass and free availability of Napier grass seeds. Praising farmer Vijaypal, Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that other farmers of the district should take inspiration from him and sow as much Napier grass as possible because Napier grass is very beneficial for animals. He said that Napier grass can be produced throughout the year. Explaining its benefits, he said that the production of Napier grass is a better option for self-reliance for continuous availability of green fodder, especially as a nutritious diet for destitute and dependent animals throughout the year. This is a nutritious fodder which will not only fulfill the food requirement but will also help in keeping the cattle healthy. Napier grass can also be used as bio energy. The effect of the appeal made by District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra is visible across the district. With his inspiration, Napier grass is being planted by farmers in all the tehsils, blocks and villages of the district. Due to the efforts of District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra, farmers have produced a lot of it in the district. The District Magistrate has been doing innovative work for the production of Napier grass for the last several years with a view to providing green fodder to destitute cattle. Due to their efforts, there has been an unprecedented increase in the area of ​​​​Napier grass in the district. During this, Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Rajneesh Kumar Mishra and other officers were present.
