Damoh, on the occasion of World Environment Day, one tree will be planted in every school with tree-guard. Along with this, one tree will be planted in all the offices with tree-guard. Plantation will also be done in every Gaushala of the district on the said day. Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar said this in the meeting of the district level committee organized in connection with Environment Day on 05 June. It was said that 05 thousand saplings will be planted on the said day. The collector said that after the rains, a mega-campaign of plantation will be run. He has also appealed to the common people to plant one sapling with tree-guard. CEO District Panchayat Arpit Verma was specially present in this meeting.

Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar told the district coordinator of Jan Abhiyan that plantation is to be done in Ankur sub-forest as well, and asked to ensure action accordingly while giving guidelines regarding this. In the meeting, CEO Batiagarh, Jabera and Pathariya talked in detail about the action plan for plantation on a large scale. These officers said that their preparations are going on regarding this campaign.

In the meeting, in view of environmental protection and awareness, all government offices, all government and non-government schools, colleges, cowsheds, Muktidham and all voluntary organizations were requested to plant a tree at public and safe places. An in-depth discussion was also held in this regard. The responsibility of protecting the planted sapling will be of the concerned institution / person. In view of environmental awareness, a workshop will be organized in PG College Damoh among various social organizations working in the field of environment, environmentalists, research students, in which suggestions will be invited on various efforts and works that can be done for environmental protection. In view of environmental awareness, an environmental awareness walkathon will be organized.
