Dhar, The schedule of Assembly General Election 2023 has been declared by the Election Commission of India. According to which the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in the entire district. According to the programme, voting is to be done on 17th November (Friday) and counting work is to be done on 3rd December (Sunday). Instructions have been issued to take necessary action as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India and Madhya Pradesh General Administration Department.
Collector and District Election Officer Mr. Priyank Mishra has instructed all the government employees to be completely impartial in the elections. He has given instructions that no such work should be done which helps any party or candidate. In short, government employees should not participate in any kind of election campaign or campaign and they should see that no party or candidate can take advantage of their position or rights in the government. During the elections, officers and employees will neither work for any candidate nor have any influence in casting the vote. Apart from this, no government servant can work as an election agent, polling agent or counting agent. Under Section 28 A of the Public Representation Act, 1951, all officers and employees employed for the conduct of elections and police officers designated by the State Government will be deemed to be on deputation to the Election Commission till the declaration of the results of the election and till that time they will be under the control, superintendence and control of the Election Commission. Will be under discipline. Performing one's official duty in a well-planned and responsible manner during elections is a duty required by law, disregard of which makes the government servant eligible for punishment. During the period till the completion of the election process, no officer/employee of the Central or State Government will make an official visit to any such constituency. If a minister organizes a general meeting on behalf of an organization or party, then arrangements for the meeting should not be made, only maintenance of law and order will be ensured. If a minister is asked for election work, government employees and officers will not accompany him. Except those officers who have been deployed for law and order security or to note the proceedings of such meeting or event, other officers are not to attend such meeting or event. All government officers/employees should ensure to follow the model code of conduct issued by the Commission as mentioned above. This Model Code of Conduct will be effective from the date of announcement on such date as may be determined by the Commission.
