Shajapur, The Nursing Officers' Association staged an hour-long dharna at the gate of the district hospital on Saturday. Babita and Pinky Chauhan of the District Nursing Association said that they had submitted a memorandum regarding 10-point demands on July 3, but no attention was paid to it, so now they are going on strike. Nursing Officers Association has 10 point demands including pay discrepancy, promotion and creation of posts.

1. Pay discrepancy of nursing cadre should be removed and second grade should be given like other states. Designation Nursing Officer pay scale should be increased from Grade Pay 2800 to Grade Pay 4200.

2. The grade pay of Senior Nursing Officer/Tutor should be increased from 3600 to 4600.

3. Matron grade pay should be increased from 4200 to 4800. 500 per night is given to the doctors of the health department, while the nurses and other paramedical staff attached with them should also be given a casual medical allowance of Rs. 300 per night.

4. Amendment should be made in the recruitment rules for the year 2018 for autonomous officer employees in the medical education department of the state, along with the suggestion of the representatives of the association should be taken while amending the recruitment rules.

5. GNM in Gwalior and Rewa Medical College. Nursing three more B.Sc. Nursing has been given four increments while other medical colleges have not. Step-motherly treatment has been meted out by the department. Like Gwalior and Rewa Medical Colleges, the Nursing Officers of the remaining Medical Colleges should be given three and four increments.
