Begusarai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced free ration for the poor but due to the arbitrariness of the dealers, the poor are not getting ration for three months. The thumb impressions of the ration card holders were also taken but despite this they did not get ration to eat. Now the ration card holders are forced to visit the dealers' shops daily.

The matter is of many villages including Gara of Naula Panchayat of Veerpur block in Begusarai. Where the dealers took the thumb impressions of the ration card holders. But even after taking the thumb impression, they have not received ration for three months. People are visiting the public distribution system shops for ration. There is not a single day when these people do not go to the dealer. The dealer disappears on seeing them.

Dozens of ration card holders in Gara of Naula Panchayat told First Bihar that dealer Rameshwar Thakur has been making them run around for ration for three months but ration is not being given. On asking for ration, the dealer abuses and behaves indecently and even threatens to implicate them in a case. All this is going on with the connivance of supply officials. Chandrakala Devi of Gara village says that thumb impression was taken four times but ration was not given even once.
When we go to dealer Rameshwar Thakur for ration, he always keeps the ration shop closed. Chandrakala alleges that poor quality ration is distributed by mixing mud. Apart from this, many ration card holders including Rupa Devi, Kranti Devi, Phuliya Devi, Shivkumari Devi, Avadh Kishore Das of the same village also say the same. They suspect that the dealer is doing ration scam. Let us tell you that Rameshwar Thakur's shop license was cancelled earlier also due to rigging and irregularities in ration distribution. When asked about this, in-charge Block Supply Officer Sonali Singh said that the matter will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.
