Saharanpur | Deoband, people of Deoband Jain community submitted a memorandum to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Deoband Yuvraj Singh on the unconstitutional demolition of 30-year-old Jain temple in Mumbai and inhumane treatment of Jain devotees by police and BMC officials. It is noteworthy that on the morning of April 16, an officer of Mumbai Municipal Corporation ruthlessly demolished the Jain temple located in Vile Parle (East) with a JCB machine, while the matter was scheduled for hearing in the court on the same day. In this demolition, idols of revered Tirthankaras of Jains were insulted and holy religious texts were thrown on the roads. For more than 30 years, Jain devotees come to this temple daily for peaceful worship and devotion. The group of non-violence devotees was also harassed by the police force. In the presence of the police force, the temple was demolished in a few minutes on the morning of 16 April, before the High Court session began. Regarding this, a memorandum was handed over by the Jain community under the leadership of Shri Digambar Jain Panchayat Samiti in Deoband today in the name of Mrs. Draupadi Murmu (President), Narendra Modi (Prime Minister), C.P. Radhakrishnan (Governor of Maharashtra), Devendra Fadnavis (Chief Minister of Maharashtra) to SDM Deoband Yuvraj Singh. In which action was taken against the officials and the temple should be rebuilt. Among those who gave the memorandum were the committee's president Moni Jain, general secretary Shubham Jain, treasurer Manoj Jain (Pillu), Ankit Jain, Amit Jain, Vijendra Jain, Mukesh Jain, Pratik Jain, Sanyam Jain and the entire Jain community.
