Damoh Police Solves Loot Worth Lakhs, Two Accused Arrested

Damoh. Damoh Police have solved the robbery worth lakhs of rupees that took place on the night of July 4th in the Narsinghgarh outpost area under the Damoh Rural Police Station and arrested two accused. Police recovered property worth approximately ₹8.50 lakh, including stolen gold and silver jewelry, the motorcycle used in the crime, a country-made pistol, and a sharp cutter. The search for other absconding accused in the case is ongoing.
According to police, on the night of July 4th, 2026, complainant Vijay Jain, a resident of Sukhi Piparia, reported on Dial-112 that four armed criminals entered his home between 1 and 1:30 am. The accused held family members hostage, assaulted them, and fled with property worth approximately ₹12.70 lakh, including gold and silver jewelry and cash.
Given the seriousness of the incident, a special investigation was immediately launched under the direction of Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladgi. Evidence was gathered with the help of a dog squad, fingerprint experts, and a cyber team. Six special teams were formed to arrest the accused, and footage from approximately 200 CCTV cameras was examined. The Superintendent of Police also announced a reward of ₹10,000 for the accused.
Based on information, technical evidence, and CCTV footage, the police detained and interrogated Shankar Yadav and Rahul Ahirwar. Both confessed to committing the crime along with four other accomplices. Police recovered the stolen gold and silver jewelry, the motorcycle used in the crime, a country-made pistol, and a sharp-edged cutter from their possession.
Both accused have been produced in court and sent to jail in judicial custody. Police are continuing to search for other absconding accused in the case.
