A big news is coming from Palakodu, Tamil Nadu. Where a case of making Dalit girls clean toilets in a school has come to light. When the matter escalated, the District Education Officer sacked the principal of the school.

Video of the incident went viral

Actually, a video went viral, in which the girls were seen cleaning toilets and sweeping in school uniform. The family members told that apart from cleaning the toilets, the children are also made to fetch water and clean the campus. This school runs classes from 1st to 8th. About 150 students from the Dalit community study in the school. Their parents told that due to the cleaning work in the school, the children often return home tired.

Heart breaks seeing the condition of the children
After the video went viral, the mother of a student said, we do not send our children to school to clean, but to study. When they come home they are too tired to do their homework. When we asked them the reason for this they said that they spent their time cleaning the school and toilets instead of studying. It is heart breaking to see the condition of the children and it seems that the teachers are not paying attention to their responsibilities of teaching.
