Lalbarra, the poor quality bridge built in village Muralikham-Pajarratola under Gram Panchayat Aulyakanhar, located at a distance of about two kilometers from the city headquarters, finally got washed away due to heavy rains, due to which the valuable crop worth lakhs of rupees planted by the farmers got completely washed away, causing great loss to the farmers and 15 to 20 farmers live on the other side of the bridge in Panjarratola, they are facing a lot of problems in commuting, children studying in schools are not able to go to school due to high water in the river. Due to which they are being deprived of education and a woman suddenly fell ill but due to high water, the doctor did not come to treat her, due to which the woman had to be satisfied with only a simple pill.
When the media team reached the spot on 27th July with the village Sarpanch representative OP Bisen ji, there was a lot of anger among the villagers. Some were cursing the contractor, some were telling the Zila Panchayat member that how the contractor was given the work. They were saying that the development work of the public representatives shows to what extent the officers and contractors listen to the public representatives. Or it can be said that it shows the indifference of the public representatives. The villagers also said that this contractor is given more work. Wherever he has done government work, he has not done a single work properly.
At the same time, we have tried to draw the attention of the government administration many times regarding this incomplete bridge construction, but till now the eyes of any officer have not opened, and also efforts have been made to draw the attention of the district collector through newspapers and news channels regarding the negligence in bridge construction.
When will the situation improve by crossing the river by risking lives
It is known that there was a continuous demand by the villagers for the construction of a bridge at the said place and then the amount for the bridge was sanctioned and an amount of Rs 34 lakh was sanctioned by the RES department in 2023 for the construction of the bridge, two years have passed but till now the work of this bridge construction has not been completed, the work has been done at a snail's pace. Even after repeatedly informing the administration, the bridge construction is incomplete. And some part of the bridge got washed away in the rain, due to which the villagers have to travel by risking their lives. Who is responsible for this condition, will this negligence continue? And till now an information board has not been installed at the said place.
