The court has given a big decision in the case of murder of members of a Dalit family in Badodia Nonagir village of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The court of District Special Sessions Judge Pradeep Soni acquitted all 13 accused. The case had made headlines across the state and it had also become an important issue from the political point of view.

Let us tell you that this murder started on 24 August 2023, when Dalit youth Nitin alias Lalu Ahirwar was murdered. After this, Lalu's relative Rajendra Ahirwar was also killed in May 2024. When Rajendra's body was being taken in an ambulance, his sister Anjana fell and died under suspicious circumstances.

The case happened two years ago, when a youth from the accused side molested a girl from a Dalit family. After this, the victim's family lodged a complaint with the police. When the accused party put pressure to compromise and the compromise did not happen. After this, the accused killed the brother of the victim. The main accused Vikram Singh Thakur and his companions Azad Thakur, Islam Khan, Golu alias Farim Khan, Sushil Kumar Soni, Anish Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Komal Singh Thakur were the accused. The accused beat up the victim's uncle, after which he died in the hospital. During this incident, the suspicious death of the victim's sister Anjana created a stir across the state and a round of political allegations and counter-allegations started. Now, the court has acquitted all 13 accused, as the court did not find them guilty on the basis of evidence and facts.

Political stir and opposition allegations
After the murders of the Dalit family, the politics of the state had heated up. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Naunagir village. Congress strongly cornered the government on this incident and accused Khurai MLA Bhupendra Singh of protecting the accused. Congress accused the government of failing to take strict action against the culprits. Now that all the accused have been acquitted, there is an atmosphere of despair in the victim's family and society.
