Court verdict in notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi case
3 smugglers sentenced to 15 years each, five accused acquitted
The verdict in the most talked about notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi case of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan was pronounced by Special Judge NDPS Act Jitendra Kumar Bajolia late on Saturday evening. The court has sentenced three smugglers, including notorious smuggler Jaikumar alias Babu Sindhi, by declaring them guilty. At the same time, five accused related to the case have been acquitted. All eyes were on this case going on for four years in Neemuch court. Notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi and his associates have been sentenced to 15 years. At the same time, they have also been punished with a fine of two lakh rupees.
Let us tell you that on 27 August 2021, the Central Narcotics Bureau raided the industrial area of Neemuch and seized 25 thousand kg of drugs. This warehouse belonged to the notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi. CBN arrested Babu Sindhi and his associates from the spot. The case was investigated by CBN for one year. A challan of about 1650 pages was presented in the court. The accused parties presented their defence in this case in the court.
At the same time, CBN officials also presented evidence related to the case. CBN said that a large-scale smuggling gang was operating under the guise of poppy seeds. Babu Sindhi was earning 30 to 40 lakh rupees per day from drug smuggling and he spent this money on property. SAFEMA action was also taken on the property worth crores of rupees registered in the name of Babu Sindhi and his wife. The court looked at all the evidence and many points minutely and found that Babu Sindhi was smuggling drugs on a large scale. The accused smugglers Babu Sindhi, Rajendra Sharma and Anurag Airan were arrested by CBN from the spot. In such a situation, the court found them guilty and sentenced them to 15 years each. A fine of two lakhs has been imposed. In case of non-payment of fine, one will have to undergo additional punishment of one year.
Five including dismissed constable acquitted
CBN had made a total of 10 accused in this case. In this case, accused Ashok Dangi, Saurabh Kochatta, Prakash alias Golu Motwari, Pankaj Kumawat, Kailash Gadiya have been acquitted due to lack of evidence. Pankaj Kumawat was posted as a constable in the police department, who was dismissed by the police department after he was found to be involved with the smuggler and became a co-accused. In this case, two accused Vinod Gurjar and Shivcharan Gurjar, residents of Jhalri police station Neemuch City, are still absconding, no solution has been found about them.
Notorious smuggler in jail for three and a half years
Notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi has been in jail for three and a half years. In January last year, he prepared a fake medical certificate of his son and took parole from the High Court Bench Indore. During parole, social worker Ashok Arora of Neemuch city along with sharp shooters carried out firing incident on Ganganagar. Now the chances of getting parole for the second time are also over. Notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi is expected to remain in jail till the end of his sentence.
Court considered Babu Sindhi to be the main mastermind
The important thing that came to light in the case was that the court considered notorious smuggler Babu Sindhi to be the main mastermind. Babu Sindhi's defence was that the godown belonged to Kailash Gadiya, he had given it on rent, but CBN proved the rental agreement to be fake. In such a situation, the court acquitted Kailash Gadiya.
