Saharanpur, Police and administration in Saharanpur have completed all the preparations for the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections. SSP Saharanpur Dr. Vipin Tada said today that a three-tier security cordon will be made at the counting place. More than 1500 security personnel will be deployed. PAC and paramilitary forces will also be included in this. An intensive checking campaign will be conducted around the counting place and drone cameras will also be used for monitoring.
In view of the possible crowd around the counting place, barriers will be installed and Janta Road will be completely closed for vehicles. District Election Officer/District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that the counting work will be completely fair and transparent. 452 employees will be engaged in the counting. He said that this time 1227083 votes have been cast on Saharanpur Lok Sabha seat. First of all, 3122 ballot papers will be counted. 392 employees will be deployed for counting of EVM votes. This includes micro observer supervisors, assistants and fourth class employees. Out of the seven assembly seats in Saharanpur, five - Saharanpur, Behat, Saharanpur Dehat, Rampur Maniharan and Deoband come under Saharanpur Lok Sabha constituency and Gangoh and Nakur come under Kairana Lok Sabha constituency. Counting of votes for all seven will be done in Saharanpur itself. The main contest on Saharanpur Lok Sabha seat is between BJP candidate Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma and SP supported Congress candidate Imran Masood. On Kairana seat, the contest is between BJP MP Pradeep Chaudhary and Congress supported SP's young candidate Iqra Hasan. State BJP President Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh played an important role in getting BJP candidate Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma nominated on Saharanpur seat. He took the responsibility of getting information every moment through his special people during the entire election. Bhupendra Chaudhary's reputation is also at stake on this seat. This is the third consecutive election for both Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma and Imran Masood. Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma had won in 2014. But Imran Masood had lost both the elections. This time he has contested the elections with renewed vigor and is strongly claiming his victory. BJP leaders are taking Raghav Lakhanpal's victory as a certainty. Keep in mind that in the last election, alliance candidate Fazlur Rehman had defeated Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma. This time it has to be seen whether Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma is able to turn the tables or not.
