Saharanpur, District Magistrate Manish Bansal said that a control room has been established in the Collectorate to protect the destitute, poor and helpless people from cold wave. This control room will operate 24×7. Employees have been deployed for the control room. Along with this, 28 night shelters have been arranged in the district. Which has the capacity to accommodate 443 people. DM Manish Bansal said that if any person needs a night shelter, he can go to the nearest night shelter. Apart from this, you can contact the control room phone number 0132-2723971 or toll free number 1077 from your mobile phone and get information about the nearest night shelter and get help. He informed that the district administration is also operating e-rickshaws to take helpless, poor and destitute people sleeping in open spaces, roads and footpaths to night shelters. These e-rickshaws will be stationed in the control room and will bring people sleeping in open spaces or on the roadside in various areas of the city to the night shelters. District Magistrate Manish Bansal has directed all the sub-district magistrates to identify the eligible people and ensure distribution of blankets to them. Also, to protect from cold wave, arrangements should be made to light bonfires at identified places in all tehsils.
