Bhopal, we all have been elected by the public. The public has expectations regarding development works and when their proposals are sent, the amount is not approved. Works worth Rs 15-15 crore are being done in the areas of BJP MLAs and the approved amount is not being given in the areas of Congress MLAs. There should be no party politics in development works. The Chief Minister belongs to everyone and not to any party, so there should be no discrimination. Cases of harassment of girls and women are coming to light every day. The government should take strict steps to prevent this. This demand was made by the members of the Congress Legislature Party, who came to meet Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav under the leadership of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Umang Singhar, in Bhopal on Tuesday.

They gave separate letters to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav demanding law and order, development work and increasing the support price of wheat and paddy to farmers. Singhar said that the MLAs of the ruling party are being given Rs 15-15 crore per year to get development work done in the area. On the other hand, the MLAs of the opposition are not being given the amount of Rs 5 crore each approved earlier. Whereas, its proposals have been approved. There should be no discrimination in development works.

Singhar said that not a single day is passing in the state, when the incident of harassment of girls or women does not come to the fore. Due to poor law and order, the fear of criminals has ended. Incidents of atrocities on Scheduled Castes-Tribes and Backward Classes are coming to the fore. Strict action should be taken to prevent these.

At the time of elections, BJP had promised that farmers will be given support price of Rs 2,700 per quintal for wheat and Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy, but after forming the government, it kept quiet. Due to excessive rains, soybean, maize and other crops have been damaged. Relief should be given to the farmers by conducting a survey to assess the damaged crops.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister assured the Congress MLAs that there will be no laxity in development works. Instructions have been given to assess the damage to the crops and if anyone tampers with the law and order, strict action will be taken against him.

Congress will run a campaign on the increasing cases of sexual exploitation in the state. On the other hand, Congress will run a campaign on the atrocities being committed on girls and women in the state. State Congress President Jeetu Patwari said that on October 5, the Youth Congress will take out a torch procession. On October 6, there will be fasting and worship of girls at the block level. On October 7, the Mahila Congress will hold a candle march simultaneously in the entire state. Party workers will appeal to the MLAs to join the Beti Bachao Abhiyan. On October 14, the party delegation will meet the Chief Minister and submit a memorandum regarding the law and order situation.
