Bengaluru, DK Shivakumar is reaching Delhi today i.e. on Tuesday amidst the continuing suspense in the Congress regarding the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka. Today is the time for decision on who will be the chief ministerial candidate of Congress in Karnataka. Meanwhile, before leaving for Delhi, DK Shivkumar has given a big statement. During a conversation with the media at the Bangalore airport, Shivakumar said that his party is united and he will neither backstab nor do any kind of blackmail. Let us tell you that Shivkumar and Siddaramaiah, who are considered to be the main contenders for the post of Chief Minister, have been called by the central leadership of the Congress to Delhi for discussion. Siddaramaiah came to Delhi on Monday itself, but Shivkumar is reaching Delhi today due to ill health.

According to the news agency ANI, while answering the questions of journalists, DK Shivakumar said, 'We are united and our figure is 135. I do not want to divide anyone here. Whether they like me or not. I am a responsible man. I will not backstab, nor will I blackmail. We have made this party (Congress), we have made this house. I am a part of it… A mother will give everything to her child.

In fact, in the midst of vigorous mobilization for the post of CM in Karnataka, Karnataka unit president DK Shivakumar is reaching Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the issue of government formation in the state with the central leadership of the party.

Shivakumar, however, canceled his visit to the national capital on Monday evening citing health reasons, leading to speculation that all is not well in the party. Whereas, Siddaramaiah is in Delhi since Monday. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Shivakumar took off for Delhi from Kempegowda International Airport here at 9.50 am.

Three central observers of the Congress, who held talks with the newly elected MLAs for the post of Chief Minister, informed party president Mallikarjun Kharge and submitted their report on Monday. The Congress Legislature Party, in a meeting held at a hotel in Bengaluru on Sunday, authorized party president Mallikarjun Kharge to elect the leader of the Legislature Party.

There is a tough fight between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah for the post of Chief Minister. The Congress returned to power by winning 135 seats in the elections held on May 10 for the 224-member assembly. Amid speculation about the number of MLAs supporting Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, the state Congress president on Monday said their strength was 135 as the party had won 135 seats under his leadership.
