Saharanpur, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod said that for effective control of communicable diseases and brain fever, a special communicable disease control campaign will be run from 01 to 31 July and Dastak campaign from 17 to 31 July.

Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod directed the District Magistrates and Chief Development Officers of the three districts of the division to ensure effective control of communicable diseases through inter-departmental cooperation of Medical Health and Family Welfare, ICDS, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Education Department, Municipal Corporation, Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Swachh Bharat Mission, Culture Department, Medical Education Department and other related departments. A meeting should be held for the successful implementation of communicable disease control and Dastak campaign at the district and block level. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod said that under the campaign, extensive public awareness should be run in which trained health workers should go door-to-door and provide information regarding prevention and treatment of diseases. For maximum impact of the campaign among the general public, all activities should be widely publicized. Department heads in all government offices, teachers in schools, executive officers in urban bodies and Gram Vikas Adhikari at the village level should create awareness about adopting all necessary measures for environmental and personal hygiene and prevention of diseases. Focus your activities on sensitive population groups in urban areas and urban slums. Fogging should be done in rural and urban areas as well as intensive vector control and sensitization activities should be conducted in high risk areas provided by the Health Department. Awareness campaigns should be conducted in urban and rural areas for environmental and personal hygiene measures, not defecating in the open, use of pure drinking water and prevention of mosquitoes. For the success of the campaign, all departments should work by making micro plans.
