Gwalior, 01 July 2024: Along with the entire country and the state, 1st July has become a historic day for Gwalior district as well. Three new laws have come into force in Gwalior district from this day to protect all the rights given to Indian citizens in the Constitution and to provide them justice.
Collector and District Magistrate Smt. Ruchika Chauhan welcomed these laws in Gwalior district by reading out the key points of the new laws. The old Acts which have been amended include the Indian Penal Code 1860, the Code of Criminal Procedure (1898), 1973 and the Indian Evidence Act 1872.
The Indian Penal Code Bill 2023 has been implemented in place of the Indian Penal Code 1860. Similarly, the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 has been replaced by the Indian Civil Protection Code Bill 2023. The Indian Evidence Bill 2023 has been implemented in place of the Indian Evidence Act 1872. All three new laws have come into effect from July 1.
On this occasion, Mrs. Chauhan said that these new laws are important steps towards protecting the rights of Indian citizens and providing justice. She believes that these new laws will improve the justice system and citizens will get speedy and accurate justice.
