Officials said that the temperature recorded in Srinagar is the lowest temperature of this season.
Pahalgam coldest place
Pahalgam was the coldest place in Kashmir valley. Pahalgam in south Kashmir's Anantnag district recorded a minimum temperature of minus five degrees Celsius, officials said. This place is one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra. He said that the minimum temperature in the famous resort Gulmarg of Baramulla district was recorded at minus 4.2 degrees Celsius, which was minus three degrees Celsius on Thursday night.
Rain and snowfall alert from December 12
The minimum temperature was minus 2.8 degrees Celsius in Qazigund, minus 2.3 degrees Celsius in Kokernag town and minus 3 degrees Celsius in Kupwara. The weather office said that the sky will be generally cloudy till December 11 but the weather will be dry and the temperature may drop by a few degrees at night. The office said that there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at isolated places in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir from December 12 to 15.
