Women can walk on the roads even at night without fear

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shared the efforts made towards the empowerment of women in Bihar. He said that the state government has taken many important steps to advance women in Bihar. The Chief Minister also clarified that he does not need to tell what he has done for women, because women in Bihar are now leading in every field. The Chief Minister especially mentioned the Jeevika Didis and said that they are making women self-reliant in every village today. Apart from this, many changes have also taken place in Bihar regarding the safety and participation of women. He said that today the number of women police personnel in Bihar is the highest and women can walk on the roads anywhere without fear even at night.

No work was done for women before 2005

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar targeted the Lalu-Rabri Raj and said that no work was done for women before 2005, nor did anyone think seriously about their upliftment. Then women could not even go out of the house, but now the environment has completely changed. Women are now fully contributing to the development of the state. He also talked about the 35 percent reservation given to women in government services by the state government and 50 percent reservation in panchayats and urban bodies. 50 percent reservation for women was implemented in Panchayati Raj institutions and urban bodies in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

Reservation in government jobs

50% reservation was implemented in primary teacher appointment from 2006, 35% in Bihar Police from 2013 and 35% in other government services from 2016.

Reservation in educational institutions

33% reservation was implemented in enrollment in educational institutions.

An amount of Rs 120 crore was transferred to 3,13,477 beneficiaries.

Mukhyamantri Balika Poshak Yojana

An amount of Rs 24,12,41,10,000 was transferred to 194,55,264 beneficiaries.

Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojana

Cycles worth Rs 3,000 were provided to girl students of class 9 (2011-24).

Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyam Yojana

A grant of Rs 5 lakh and an interest-free loan of Rs 5 lakh were provided to women entrepreneurs.
Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana

An amount of Rs 5163.65 lakh was transferred to 23,218 beneficiaries.

Mukhyamantri Civil Seva Protsahan Yojana

An incentive amount of Rs one lakh was provided to 102 women who cleared the UPSC preliminary examination and Rs 50 thousand was provided to 1615 women who cleared the BPSC preliminary examination.

Mukhyamantri Kishori Swasthya Yojana

An amount of Rs 6,41,11,94,850 was transferred to 2,82,44,169 beneficiaries (2014-24).

Lakshmibai Social Security Pension Yojana

An amount of Rs 40516.84 lakh was transferred to 8,36,527 beneficiaries.

Mukhyamantri Balika Protsahan Yojana (Graduate)

An amount of Rs 50,000 per girl child was transferred to 3,77,986 beneficiaries (2014-24).

Mukhyamantri Balika Protsahan Yojana (+12 Class)

An amount of Rs 25,000 per girl child was transferred to 2,85,522 beneficiaries (2014-24).
