Anuppur, as per the instructions of Collector Shri Harshal Pancholi, the team of Women and Child Development Department stopped child marriage by counselling the family members in village Mohndi under development block Pushparajgarh. On receiving information about child marriage in village Mohndi, District Program Officer Women and Child Development Department Shri Vinod Paraste and his team attended the village and counselled the family members of the bride and groom by making them aware of the provisions of the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006. He informed the family members as well as the villagers about the ill-effects of child marriage and the legal proceedings in case of marrying a boy or girl at an early age, due to which the family members of the bride and groom said that they would get married only after the girl turns 18 years old.
